Case Study: Effects of laser & myofascial treatment on senior dog
February 27, 2016
By David Firra, MT. Scooter, a 15 year old Border Collie, was viciously attacked on the right hip area by another dog and approximately one month later, Scooter's owner accidentally stepped on her right front paw. She was having problems with an antalgic (painful) gait bilaterally, loss of appetite, irregular and painful bowel movements. Scooter's owner contacted In-Motion for possible treatment options; she was given a 15-20 minute laser treatment to the bilateral pelvis area, right femur, right carpal and metacarpal bones and sternum. Additionally, light massage was given to her hamstrings. After her first visit she was able to chase her beloved tennis ball. After four visits she was walking 2 to 5 miles. Treatment will continue on an as needed basis.
